How The Day Works

You can come for as long or as short a length of time as you like. You don't have to stay for 11 hours!

Between the hours of 11am and 10pm there will be a variety of scheduled performances, films, workshops, debates and presentations. Many of these will run simultaneously and you may have to choose which to attend. In addition there are several exhibits for you to view in your own time, and two rooms dedicated to helping you take action: 'The Visual Protest' in the Paintbox Art Studio and 'The ACT Fair' - a collection of stalls run by leading organisations active in the region, where you can donate to charities, learn how to campaign, buy books, register for demonstrations, or sign up to visit the UN.

We recommend that you try to catch one film or play, participate in one workshop or attend one debate, give yourself some time to browse the exhibitions, and make sure to visit the ACT Fair before you leave.

Alternatively, you may choose to attend several debates or come chiefly for the music session in the evening. The day is yours to shape as you wish, although we always suggest you take at least one concrete piece of action during your visit - whether that's making your mark on our visual petition, writing a letter to your MP or donating to an aid agency.

You'll get a printed programme with a full schedule when you arrive, but now you're here, why not browse the timetable and full details of all our events through our website in advance?
